I was taught a Grand Slam lesson

GARY ANDERSON last night admitted he was handed a Grade A lesson as the unstoppable Phil Taylor crushed the Scot's dreams of lifting the Grand Slam of Darts.
The Borders ace was left in the slipstream of a magical performance from the 15-times world champion in Wolverhampton.
Anderson could do nothing as Taylor, appearing in his 75th major final of an astonishing career, came within a single point of breaking the world-record average for a final as he steamrollered his way to a 16-4 hammering.
Incredibly, the Scot averaged an impressive ton on his own throughout the match but it was simply not enough to live with the game's greatest-ever player.
Despite the defeat, having struggled for his best form going into the week in the Midlands, the 40-year-old from Eyemouth was not too downcast after the tanking.
Premier League champion Anderson, who collected a consolation cheque for £50,000 as runner-up, said: "I got an A class lesson in how to play darts. Phil was simply phenomenal.
"I wasn't expecting much when I arrived at the tournament and I'd have laughed if you'd said I'd be runner-up."
