New Shoes For Nicholson

PAUL NICHOLSON has been giving his rivals a verbal and darting kicking all year.

Now he has revealed his secret weapon... a new pair of SHOES.
The Asset is THE rising star of the oche with great form and box-office banter to go with it.
He rose to fame at the Players Championship in January 2010 — beating Adrian Lewis and Phil Taylor on the way to his first major title.
Now Nicho goes into tomorrow's televised Players Championship in Doncaster first-round clash with Steve Brown better prepared than ever before.
He said: "My biggest disaster was the 2010 World Championship when I went out in the opening round to Terry Jenkins.
"Because of the heavy snow I had to walk to the Alexandra Palace and my shoes were too slippy and I got to the venue late and couldn't prepare in time.
"I lost the match and that was a nightmare. I'll nver let that happen again.
"I've even bought a new pair of Wavewalk shoes from Clarks which have a bigger tread on them! The daft thing is that shoes are so important. They affect your height and stance when you're throwing — so it's been quite a big decision to change shoes."
He is now up to World No9 and a firm favourite for a Premier League place next season.
However, the feature of his year has been his on and off oche clashes with Taylor.
It started with his win over The Power at the UK Open in June followed by a war of words and subsequent three major defeats.
But despite the losses he is far from beaten. He said: "I will just keep going and keep coming back for me until I finally take his crown."
