Gary Anderson survives Jyhan Artut scare

Gary Anderson avoided a shock first round exit at the PDC World Championship, seeing off Jyhan Artut 3-2 after a thrilling last set.

The Scotsman, runner-up in last year's event, found himself 2-0 down as he struggled to find his doubles.
But, with an average of almost 96, Anderson came roaring back to force a deciding set.
Both players missed four match darts before Anderson won a sudden-death leg to prevail.
"I'm very lucky to have won the match and keep my hopes alive of winning this title," admitted the 40-year-old world number four.
"I couldn't hit a double in the first two sets and Jyhan played well to win them.
"It's definitely a wake-up call. I have been struggling to get to the dart board to practice. That was a wake-up call."
In the final set, Anderson missed three darts at closing doubles when 2-1 ahead and found himself in real trouble when his German opponent won the ninth leg to move 5-4 in front.
With Anderson looking resigned to defeat, Artut then squandered four darts for a double 16 finish, allowing the Scot to stay alive with a last dart double top.
With the final set in sudden-death, Anderson took full advantage of his reprieve to close out from 76 with two darts.
World number 15 Colin Lloyd was rarely troubled as he saw off Darin Young 3-1 to set up a meeting with Andy Smith or Scott Rand.
Another 3-1 winner was Michael van Gerwen, who showed signs of the form that saw him installed as a rising star a couple of years ago as he beat Colin Osborne.
Terry Jenkins wasted no time seeing off Joe Cullen 3-0, with the 10th seed dropping just three legs.
